3 First Collisions Aug&Oct 2006 Numerous Global Runs: increasing detector participation Oct&Nov 2008 CRUZET I : 20% barrel CRUZET II : 60% barrel CRUZET III & IV : 100% barrel Cruzet V: first successful atempts to include endcap+ in readout CRAFT : 100% barrel and endcap+ May 2008 June 2008 MTCC : 35 chambers barrel&endcap+ July&Aug 2008

S INCRONIZZAZIONE T RIGGER 5 The typical inter-wheel synchronization (~90% of trigger in the same BX)

S TUDI D I E FFICIENZA 6 Y X Z DT segment extrapolation method: si estrapola per linea retta segmento per segmento. Diversi run a tensioni differenti: 8.9, 9.0, 9.1, 9.2 e 9.3 kV

S TUDI DI E FFICIENZA 8 8 9.2kV Spiegazione slide successive

I NVERSIONE SEQUENZA FEB NEL B ARREL 9 First FEB Last FEB Totale di 10 roll, i.e. <1% Problema risolto correggendo il Connectivity DB strip

12 R ESIDUI o Residui calcolati con DT Segment Extrapolation Method o Shifts >1cm o 21 rolls con problema o ~2% of Barrel o Studi di allineamento (RPC –DT) BAD GOOD Layer 1 of all 5 Wheels cm

E FFICIENCY S TUDIES 13 Chambers turned off Inversions at the level of FEB Many Masked Strips Some Masked Strips Wrong Strip Length Shifts RUN at 9.2kV

T ECHNICAL T RIGGER U NIT S TATUS TTU is one of the 2 boards on which the RPC Technical Trigger (the other one is the RBC, i.e. RPC Balcony Collector) The TTU is implemented with a algorithm to detect single or multiple cosmic muon tracks at every bunch crossing along with their track lengths and corresponding chamber coordinates. It provides a wheel level trigger. Its validation was done with local run data. Validation was completed for W+1 & W0. Proceeding with the other wheels Waiting for the LB-TB new firmware developed for synchronization purposes 17

T O S UMMARIZE Therefore, we identified Inverted FEBs in the Barrel Parity like rotation in the endcaps Wrong Strip Lengths in the Barrel. Shift in the residuals Eta-partition inversion Problems are clear, so we are working on the solution. New Geometry tags will be read in a few days, while DB has been already corrected Taking into account what we just discussed, lets look at the efficiency distribution once again…. 18

RPC T RIGGER 21 The RPC PACT is based on the spatial and temporal coincidence of hits in 3 (low quality) or 4 (high quality) RPC muon stations. The pattern of hit strips is then compared to predefined patterns corresponding to various p T PACT 33 trigger towers each with 144 segments
