INFINITE OF PURPOSE INFINITO DI SCOPO: dove in Italiano molte forme col verbo all’infinito hanno una preposizione, in inglese essa sparisce in quanto viene già inglobata nel TO del verbo. Ecco alcuni esempi: PER Vado a scuola per imparare l’inglese I GO TO SCHOOL TO LEARN ENGLISH DI Digli di andare via TELL HIM TO GO AWAY A Vado a nuotare I GO TO SWIM

La forma negativa dell'infinito si ottiene aggiungendo la negazione not davanti al verbo all’ infinito. ESEMPI I decided not to go to London. He asked me not to be late. I'd like you not to sing so loudly. I might not come.
