2 2 IBL Lay-out 2  Since IBL is an additive layer, its radiation length has to be extremely small  Geometry requirements are demanding. Clearance with the actual BL is barely respected and staves should be directly mounted onto the beam pipe.  Need to proof that the thermal management can keep the sensor at an acceptable temperature.  Cooling reliability becomes even more important during the bake-out since the NEG attivation will turn out in an significant heat load on the cooling. TDR previsto per la fine 2009 IBL pronto nel 2013

3 3 The Homogeneous stave and the Carbon pipe  Here is the first prototype of the stave. The critical aspect is the thermal contact between the carbon pipe and the foam.  The X-ray tomography taken during the qualification of the thermal bond shows how the resin “impregnates” the pores of the foam as the it were a sandwich core. 4 4 Richieste Meccanica  Sono gia’ stati realizzati dei prototipi dei tubi e si vuole realizzare una mini serie per testarne l’affidabilita’ sotto i vari aspetti :  resistenza alla pressione, resistenza alla radiazione, misure di coefficienti termici, etc  5KE Inoltre servono per realizzare qualche prototipo di stave completo da caratterizzare sotto vari aspetti e confrontare con le simulazioni realizzate dal servizio officina 10KE  Interesse a sviluppare anche i fitting sempre in fibra di carbonio tra lo stave e il circuito di cooling fino a PP1, che funzionino ad alta pressione  20KE

5 5 Elettronica e Servizi Manteniamo la nostra responsabilita’ sulle PP2 il numero di alimentazioni previste e’ diminuito (120 moduli) Si prevede di realizzare circa 30 schede. Stiamo analizzando se e’ possibile riutilizzare le schede gia’ realizzate, con minime modifiche IBL ha allo studio la realizzazione di un nuovo optochip per lettura fibre ottiche. Stiamo valutando se e’ possibile collaborare a questo progetto
