Progettazione delle OO.PP. e Difesa della Costa INTERREG III B CADSES HYDROCARE Hydrological cycle of the CADSES regions “COMB” BASINS UMBRIA MARCHE THE ADRIATIC SEA The Potenza river This is a geological map of the Marche region where you can see two mountain lines. The first in the western side (ridge appenninica umbro-marchigiana), the second in the eastern side (ridge marchigiana). Both mountain lines directions are from north, north-west to south south-east. The rivers morphology is orthogonal to the mountains and the solid transport comes from the mountain. The ridges are made of by carbonatic rock and, from the mineralogical point ofview, the stream solid transport is made of carbonate and quartz grains.

From left towards right it is possible to observe the passage from the hydrogeological carbonate sequence to the terrigenous sequence. The colours from blue to the dark green represent the carbonatic sequence. On the right has the terrigenous sequence is representied by the light colors.

Progettazione delle OO.PP. e Difesa della Costa INTERREG III B CADSES HYDROCARE Hydrological cycle of the CADSES regions CONCLUSIONS −We know some data about the basin and the seaside of the Potenza river; UP GOING WORKS −We will install the instruments near the mouth of the Potenza river to monitoring the water table and study the fresh water-sea water interaction. −We will look for a relation between hydrometereological data and quantity and quality of water resources; −Production of thematic maps for hydrogeological characteristics of the Potenza River basin; −Definition of regulative instruments for the correct management of the water resources.
