1 COME ACCOGLIERE IL SIGNORE CHE VIENE? Il Signore si fa sempre presente nella nostra vita: il santo Natale è una delle più grandi occasioni che non deve assolutamente essere sprecata. Come possiamo andare incontro al Signore che viene? Con gioia gioia, perché Egli ci libererà dalle difficoltà e dalle prove; con amore amore, fatto di opere di carità; seguendo i suoi insegnamenti e con un sincero pentimento per una conversione vera che duri tutta la vita.(G.L.) HOW DO WE PREPARE TO WELCOME THE LORD WHO'S COMING? The Lord is always present in our lives: holy Christmas is one of the most important occasions and we must not, in any way, waste it. How can we prepare ourselves for the Lord's coming? joy love, We can do it with joy because He shall free us from difficulties and trials; with love, made up of charitable acts; by following His teachings as well as with a sincere repetance so that we can achieve a true, life-lasting conversion. (Lc 3, 14) People serving as soldiers asked John, "What about us? What are we to do?" And he answered, "Don't take anything by force or threaten the people by denouncing them falsely. Be content with your pay." (Lk 3, 14)

7 L'attesa del popolo intanto cresceva e tutti si domandavano in cuor loro se Giovanni fosse il Messia. Giovanni rispose: «Io vi battezzo con acqua, ma viene uno che è più forte di me, al quale non sono degno neppure di sciogliere i lacci dei sandali. Egli vi battezzerà in Spirito Santo e fuoco. (Lc 3, 15-16) The people were wondering about John's identity, "Could he be the Messiah?" Then John answered them, "I baptize you with water, but the one who is coming will do much more: he will baptize you with Holy Spirit and fire. As for me, I am not worthy to untie his sandal. (Lk 3, 15-16)
