2 What is the condizionale?
The conditional tense is the verb tense introduced by the helping verb “would” in English: I would buy that car. She would be happy. In Italian, the condizionale is a simple tense. It is made up of only one word, without a helping verb. Io comprerei quella macchina. Lei sarebbe felice.

FORMATION of the CONDIZIONALE tense: The condizionale is made up of the future stem and an ending: Add the following conditional endings: Use the future stem, for both regular and irregular: + -ei -emmo parlare parler– -esti -este essere sar– -ebbe -ebbero *I would sleep: dormirei
