8 Ne(Of / about it, them) When ne refers to a quantity and is used with a compound verb such as the passato prossimo, the past participle must agree in gender and number with the noun that ne is replacing. *Quanti meloni hai comprato? Ne ho comprati tre. * Quante lettere avete scritto? Ne abbiamo scritte molte.

9 Ne(Of / about it, them) Ne is often used in expressions pertaining to the date and to people’s ages. *Quanti ne abbiamo oggi? Oggi ne abbiamo venti. *Quanti anni hai? Ne ho diciannove.
