Kockelmann (ISIS Spallation Neutron Source- UK) C. Caliri, H.C. Santos (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare) C. Miliani, L. Cartechini, L. Monico (MOLAB) Artefacts Alabaster (sealed and unsealed) metallic and ceramic vessels, jars for food, oil, powders and perfumes. The Collection of the Tomb of Kha “Kha and his wife Merit” funerary chamber dated back from 1400 BC and was discovered in 1906, near to Deir el-Medina. The collection is preserved at the Museo Egizio in Turin (I) Measurements Non destructive and non invasive ANALYSIS. Studies are performed through the synergic use of portable and fix instrumentation, i.e. using INFN-LNS and MOLAB at Egyptian Museum and at ISIS pulsed neutron source). S. 8442, Alabaster, neutron radiography RESULTS MA-XRF correlation maps of pigments in the wooden coffers First information on elemental compositions of ceramics and painted materials are obtained by combining light (PGAA, XRF and XRD techniques) and particle (neutron diffraction and and imaging) probes. Better definition of pigment signature, origin of materials and manufacturing technologies. New chemical, physical and microstructural information emerged using the light and neutron based techniques: XRF, micro-XRF Mapping and XRD portable techniques PGAA and neutron diffraction and imaging on Engin-X and IMAT beamlines at ISIS.
