2 2 E stato completato il documento tecnico operativo con le soluzioni tecniche per linteroperabilità ed il documento di Service Level Agreement Attività del Gruppo Tecnico Operativo Attuare tutte le soluzioni del documento tecnico operativo e portare a regime il Service Level Agreement

3 3 Le infrastrutture sono già interoperanti e in funzione nelle parti fondamentali. Sono già iniziate le riunioni telefoniche tra i gruppi tecnici operati (prima riunione svolta il 14 Marzo) previste dal SLA. Attività del Gruppo Tecnico Operativo

11 11 COMPUTATIONAL RESOURCE SHARING VIA GRID INTEROPERABILITY IN SOUTHERN ITALY In this work we present an interoperability model, implemented among the Grid infrastructures of the projects CRESCO, CYBERAR, PI2S2 and SCoPE. This approach aims to create a Grid environment in the south of Italy by unifying and valorising the different experiences, without compromising local autonomy. The interoperability strategy has been focused to the integration the independent Grid infrastructures of the 4 projects by defining a common communication layer, based on the gLite middleware. This activity has been carried out in the context of the technical committee for the interoperability promoted by the Italian Ministry of University and Research. The gLite middleware has been selected because it provides structured Grid services with clear relationships between the computational and storage resources and a centralized approach for the collective services. However, considering the low level protocols as a communication layer, it is possible to ensure the interoperability of distributed resources also through a non-standard setup. In fact, the compliance of a site to the gLite requirements can also be obtained by the implementation of dedicated gateways which can enable the interoperability also with other Grid middleware architectures. From a technical point of view, this approach provides an integrated production-quality service based on four different e-Infrastructures. Each deploys a minimal sub set of gLite collective services, called Primary Services, in order to manage the access to resources and the membership of the virtual organizations authorized. This set of collective services, duplicated at each project infrastructure, avoid single points of failure still ensuring the needed homogeneity by the use of the same information model and by the implementation of some centralized services such as Monitoring and Accounting ones. 13 13 OGF23 Grid case studies will be presented through the co-location of the EU-funded BEinGRID project's Industry Days event (3-5 June - Barcellona) at OGF23. Results and demonstrations of over 15 different "experiments" with grids in commercial sectors will be presented.
