Le SDICs possono essere: - Regionali - Settoriali - Tematiche

GI-CLAN è sviluppata secondo la Convenzione Europea del Paesaggio Creazione di conoscenze sulla costa: si basa su dati e informazioni facilmente accessibili, condivisibili e aggiornate, raccolti su base scientifica Politiche, pianificazione e progettazione della costa: - Politiche: definizione delle politiche, scelte e necessità dellICM, definizione degli obiettivi. - Pianificazione: strategie, obiettivi specifici, estensione degli interventi in una prospettiva operativa. Lintegrazione tra mondo scientifico, attori, pianificatori e decision maker è essenziale. - Progettazione: si riferisce ad azioni specifiche spesso a scala locale. Implica unintegrazione partecipata specialmente a livello di comunità locali. Gestione del Waterfront: soggetto ad elevata pressione antropica e a numerosi usi, nel contesto europeo è un aspetto di importanza regionale e non solo urbana.

Per raggiungere questo obiettivo e per massimizzare i benefici ottenuti da questa integrazione, saranno tenute in considerazione le richieste di INSPIRE e di GMES,oltre che delle agenzie ambientali e di altri settori ambientali dellUE. La formazione su INSPIRE dovrebbe basarsi sulle esigenze individuate dalle comunità di utenti ed essere a disposizione e condivisa a vantaggio degli utenti stessi. Una collaborazione proficua tra SDIC nazionali e tematiche è necessaria per meglio individuare le necessità specifiche degli utenti (Nazionali vs. Tematiche) e mettere a disposizione competenze specialistiche (Tematiche vs. Nazionali)
