INTRODUZIONE INTRODUCTION Questi libri sono stati scritti da bambini per altri bambini. Ogni libro è formato da storie di stile diverso, poiché scritte da bambini di diverse età e nazionalità. Ciascuna classe o gruppo di classi ha prodotto un capitolo del libro e la traduzione in inglese è stata fatta di solito dagli insegnanti, ma in alcune classi hanno collaborato anche gli alunni. Ogni scuola ha quindi tradotto le storie delle scuole partner nella propria lingua. I libri ritorneranno quindi nelle classi e le storie lette, godute e commentate insieme saranno di stimolo per altre molteplici ed interessanti riflessioni. Esse saranno inoltre presentate ai genitori ed agli altri partner del progetto, quali i Comuni e le biblioteche civiche. INTRODUCTION These books have been written by children for children. Each book is different in style as they were created by children from different countries and of different ages. The classes worked together to create a chapter of a book and the English translations were written by the teachers and in some cases by the children. Each school then translated the stories written by the partner schools into their own language. The stories will be read and enjoyed by each class and further discussions and evaluations on the topics will be encouraged. They will also be shared with different partners of the school, including parents and governors. 2

LA MASCOTTE SI PRESENTA Ciao bambini! Io mi chiamo Petsif, e starò con voi per un po’ dato che la mia macchina del tempo mi ha portato qui nel 2008. A me piace fare ricerche di storia e perciò viaggio spesso nel tempo per completare i miei progetti. Ora vi voglio raccontare qualcosa di me: io vengo dall’Europa Unita che adesso è formata da tutte le nazioni che ci sono nel vostro tempo. Ogni persona sa parlare e comprendere tutte le lingue: sapete, le scuole del futuro sono incredibili! Sono molto contento di essere qui con voi e sono sicuro che impareremo molto l’uno dall’altro. Qui ho trovato tanti nuovi amici che non mi hanno mai fatto sentire solo e strano. Anzi, mi hanno fatto tantissime domande sulla mia vita nel futuro e non mi sono mai sentito cosi importante! So tante cose perché ho viaggiato molto visitando tante epoche. Mi piace incontrare i bambini, ascoltare le loro idee, rispondere alle loro domande. Sono sicuro che avete tante curiosità su come saranno nel futuro la vostra vita personale, la vita quotidiana, le città, l’ambiente, e sono pronto a raccontarvi tutto ciò che volete sapere. THE MASCOT’S PRESENTATION Hello children!   My name is Petsif, I shall be with you for a while as my time machine has brought me back to the year 2008. I enjoy researching history and often travel back in time in order to complete my projects. Now I would like to tell you something about myself: I come from United Europe which now consists of all the previous European countries. Everybody there can speak and understand all the languages. Let me tell you that schools in the future are fantastic! I’m very happy to be here with you, and I am sure that we will learn lots from each other. I have made a lot of new friends who never allow me to feel lonely or unusual, they are constantly asking me questions about my life in the future - I have never felt so special! My general knowledge has developed as a result of travelling through many time zones. I enjoy meeting children of all ages, listening to their ideas and answering their questions. I am sure that you are very curious about what your personal life, daily life, the cities, the environment will be like in the future, and I am ready to tell you all about it… Hello children!

GLI ARGOMENTI DEI LIBRI Libro 2: “La vita quotidiana” 17 storie per un totale di 80 pagine. I bambini hanno inventato le loro storie ambientate nel futuro pensando in particolare ad alcuni temi, quali la scuola, l’abbigliamento, il tempo libero. Libro 1: “La mia vita nel futuro” 18 capitoli per un totale di 98 pagine. È il libro composto dagli alunni più piccoli, dai 3 ai 7 anni. Essi hanno cercato di immaginare come avrebbero voluto essere da grandi, pensando in particolare al lavoro che avrebbero svolto. Libro 4: “L’ambiente nel futuro” 6 storie per un totale di 34 pagine. Le storie presentano un futuro nel quale si sono risolti i problemi della carenza dell’acqua, dell’inquinamento, del risparmio energetico, della raccolta e riutilizzo dei “rifiuti”… Libro 3: “La città nel futuro” 6 storie per un totale di 42 pagine. I bambini hanno immaginato come vorrebbero che fossero le città del futuro.

THE BOOKS’ TOPICS Book 2: “Daily life” 17 stories, 80 pages. The children invented their stories in the future thinking particulary about topics like school, clothes, free time. Book 1: “My life in the future” 18 chapters, 98 pages . It’s the younger pupils’ (from 3 to 7), book. They tried to imagine what they would be like as adults, thinking particulary about their jobs. Libro 4: “The environment” 6 stories, 34 pages. The stories show a future time where the problems about pollution, water shortage, energy saving, recycling… have been solved at last! Libro 3: “The city” 6 stories, 42 pages. The children imagined what they would like the cities to be like in the future.
