Le Banche Polacche Forte presenza di partecipazioni straniere nelle banche polacche: Privatizzazioni Salvataggio di banche in difficolta’ Le banche create da capitali esteri sono meno del 10% dei capitali del settore After a bumper year, Lukas Bank is cautious about 2005 From Poland A.M. In Q1 of 2005 Lukas Bank managed to post a similar profit to that of the analogous period in 2004, namely around zł.65 million. "The increase in our credit portfolio compared to Q1 of 2004 was about 24%," said Bastien Charpentier, president of Credit Agricole Polska, owner of the Lukas group. In the current year the Wrocław based bank is not counting on significantly increasing its profits. "Last year we posted a net profit of zł.245 million, which was a record in the history of the group. If we manage to repeat such positive results it would mark a success. Our cautious projections for 2005 are not connected with the bank ceasing to develop, we are planning large investments," explained Charpentier. The bank plans to launch an integrated IT system, open another 10 branches (currently it owns 114 branches) and open 50 credit centers. This year, Lukas Bank projects an increase in the number of credit cards it will issue and a 30% increase in granted loans. (Puls Biznesu, p. 10; Parkiet, p. 6) D.W.
Le Banche polacche Stato Banche controllate da capitali esteri Banche 29.5 % dei depositi 62% dei depositi Stato Banche controllate da capitali esteri RI to draw up CEE shopping list following flotation From Poland A.M. Raiffeisen International (RI), owner of Raiffeisen Bank Polska and 14 other banks in Central and Eastern Europe, plans to spend EUR 1.1 billion on acquisitions. The announcement follows RI's successful IPO on the stock exchange in Vienna. "We are seeking investment opportunities. Before 2007 we would like to own assets worth some EUR 4 billion in the CEE region," said RI president, Hubert Stepic. He went on to say that he does not currently plan a flotation on the Warsaw Stock Exchange but does not exclude the possibility in the future. "If we managed to acquire the planned assets then the next flotation will be carried out in 2007. That is when we will become interested in the bourses in the region," added Stepic. Raiffeisen Bank Polska recorded a net profit of zł.164.4 million last year, which accounted for 8.3% of the group's profits. This year the Polish subsidiary's share is to amount to 11%.
