Quando è il tuo compleanno? Il mio compleanno è il 20 aprile. (When is your birthday?) Il mio compleanno è il 20 aprile. (My birthday is April 20th.)

Sono nato(-a) il 20 aprile 1995. Quando sei nato(-a)? (When were you born?) Sono nato(-a) il 20 aprile 1995. (I was born on April 20, 1995.)

Remember . . . . . . When we give the year in Italian, we NEVER divide the year into two numbers. 1995  We don’t say diciannove novantacinque We say….. millenovecentonovantacinque

Calendar Notes Days and months are not capitalized. The # of the day MUST come before the month. Ex: July 24th is il ventiquattro luglio The first of the month is il primo. The 8th and 11th of the month take the definite article l’ not il because they begin with a vowel. Ex: February 8th is l’otto febbraio (l’8 febbraio) Ex: March 11th is l’undici marzo (l’11 marzo)
