LOpera è la trasposizione di un lavoro teatrale che V. Sardou scrisse per Sarah Bernardt, grandissima attrice della Bella Epoque. La storia si svolge a metà del 1800 nella Roma papalina. Floria Tosca, bellissima e famosissima cantante, è lamante molto gelosa di Mario Cavaradossi, pittore. This opera is based on a pièce that V. Sardou wrote for Sarah Bernardt, a Belle Epoque great and famous actress. The story takes place in the mid-1880s in papal Rome.
