2 VISIT BLETCHLEY PARK – U NA VISITA AL BLETCHLEY PARK Once Britain's Best-Kept Secret, today Bletchley Park, Home of the Codebreakers, is a unique heritage site and vibrant tourist attraction. Visitors can explore and experience the top-secret world of iconic WW2 Codebreaking Huts and Blocks set within an atmospheric Victorian estate nestled in peaceful parkland with soundscape. 4 UNA VISITA AL BLETCHLEY PARK The arrival of ‘Captain Ridley's Shooting Party’ at a mansion house in the Buckinghamshire countryside in late August 1938 was to set the scene for one of the most remarkable stories of World War Two. They had an air of friends enjoying a relaxed weekend together at a country house. They even brought with them one of the best chefs at the Savoy Hotel to cook their food. La "battuta di caccia del capitano Ridley" in una villa nella campagna del Buckinghamshire nel tardo Agosto del 1938 stava per conquistare la scena diventando uno degli eventi più importanti della seconda guerra mondiale. 5 UNA VISITA AL BLETCHLEY PARK But the small group of people who turned up at Bletchley Park were far from relaxed. They were members of MI6, and the Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS), a secret team of individuals including a number of scholars turned Codebreakers. 6 UNA VISITA AL BLETCHLEY PARK Their job; to see whether Bletchley Park would work as a wartime location, well away from London, for intelligence activity by GC&CS as well as elements of MI6. The GC&CS mission was to crack the Nazi codes and ciphers. The most famous of the cipher systems to be broken at Bletchley Park was the Enigma. Il loro compito consisteva nel valutare se Bletchley Park, durante la guerra, potesse essere la sede, ben lontana da Londra, per attività di intelligence da parte del GC&CS così come da elementi dell’M16. La missione del GC&CS era quella di decifrare i codici e i messaggi cifrati dei nazisti. Il più noto dei sistemi di cifratura ad essere stato decodificato a Bletchley Park è l'Enigma.

7 UNA VISITA AL BLETCHLEY PARK There were also a large number of lower-level German systems to break as well as those of Hitler's allies. At the start of the war in September 1939 the codebreakers returned to Bletchey Park to begin their war-winning work in earnest. C'erano non solo molti sistemi tedeschi di minor livello da decifrare ma anche quelli degli alleati di Hitler. Con lo scoppio della guerra nel settembre 1939, i codebreakers ritornarono a Bletchley Park al fine di iniziare sul serio il loro lavoro per poter vincere la guerra.
