2 Mission and Activities (DGR n. 206/23.02.2000) Following european policies; Providing information to local bodies about european opportunities; Supporting both regional Governement and regional Council about relations with European Institution; Monitoring legislation and european iniciatives; Contributing in drafting of european policies; Organizating conferences, workshops, seminars; Training; International cooperation Regione Abruzzo

3 Abruzzo Region and European Funding Regione Abruzzo Europead Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Rural Development Programme (RDP) European Social Fund (ESF) Funding is negociated by means of specific documents (DOCUP) approved betweeen Region and European Commission, usually every 5 years Regional Managing Authorities are responsible for carring-on negotiation, with the close support of Brussels based Office

4 Cooperation Programmes Regione Abruzzo Abruzzo Region is managing Authority of European Program “IPA Adriatic CBC” Direct Funding and calls for proposal Other sectorial programmes managed directly by European commission: research, environment, education, cooperation, SMEs etc.; all those programmase every year generates around 300-400 calls for proposal

5 Regione Abruzzo 50% of european funding concerns directly Public, Regional and Local bodies Call for proposal describes: Aivalable budget; deadline; Financial Allowance (min/max); Measures and actions to be undertaken. Call for proposal includes: application-form, guidelines and contact- points (european and national)

6 Regione Abruzzo Indispensable pre-requisites for project appproval Fo each project it is required the joint action of at least three to five partners (depending on program) from at least 3 member states (For the Life+ program also individual proposals are allowed) Average participation in projects is 3 to 8 partners The stronger is the partnership the more are chanches to be granted The partners can come together in a consortium of fact, so no formal notarial acts or under the control of the courts, aimed at implementing and managing the proposed project only.
