COORDINAMENTO 2 WP: GRID INFRASTRUCTURE e APPLICATION PUNTI RILEVANTI Guida di un progetto considerato strategico dal Ministero e dalla Commissione Europea per i rapporti con l’India Supporto alle attività LCG nelle collaborazioni con i partners indiani L’INFN ha un MOU con il BARC su sviluppo di grid middleware L’INFN ha collaborazioni consolidate con i partners Indiani di ALICE e CMS sulle attivita’ di Computing La commissione EU e’ disponibile a contribuire ad un incremento del link intercontinentale in funzione di una collaborazione EU-India giustificata da questo progetto Contributo finanziario per INFN: 278 K-EUR su circa 1 M-EUR totali

7 Project Review From the Letter received by European Commission:
The overall outcome of the Review was positive and the Reviewers acknowledge the progress made by the project From the Reviewers Report: The overall impression of the reviewers is that the commitment of the consortium is high and a good level of collaboration has been achieved within the 1st year. The expertise available in the EU-IndiaGrid project team is very relevant, and the partners showed a high degree of motivation towards the project and were fully committed to it. The excellence of the partners is good and in particular the reviewers appreciated the contribution participation of the Indian partners in the 1st Review.

13 NOVITA’ IMPORTANTE Il 18/4 in occasione di un incontro a Brussels per il Contract Amendment e le problematiche di rete EU-CERN-India sono stato informato di una nuova prossima call destinata a: grid infrastructures cooperation between Europe and USA, China, India and the Mediterranean area Dalla discussione che ho avuto con i rappresentanti della Commissione l’ obiettivo è dare continuità ai progetti EUChinaGRID, EU-IndiaGrid, EUMEDGRID

15 Richieste Aprile 2008 Cari Referee, Il progetto EU-IndiaGrid era previsto terminare il 30/9/2008, di fatto ha avuto un’ estensione fino al 31/1/2009 (Project Review dopo il 15/3/02009) Il contract amendment e’ in preparazione e ho gia’ provveduto a informare sia Antonella Antonelli sia la Giunta (Graziano Fortuna) che mi ha dato il suo assenso. Ho due piccole richieste sui fondi Grid della Sezione di Cagliari assegnati per le attivita’ del progetto: Lo sblocco dei 2000 euro S.J. assegnati su consumo La richiesta per un’ulteriore assegnazione di 4000 euro di consumo La richiesta e’ motivata dalle seguenti attivita’ aggiuntive: Realizzazione, come Deliverable aggiuntivo, di una brochure indirizzata ai “Policy Makers” che illustri risultati e principali attivita’ del progetto (Recommendation 7, Annual Review Report) Realizzazione di uno stand del progetto e organizzazione di una Sessione dedicata all’ India in occasione di ICT-2008, evento biennale organizzato dalla Commissione Europea

16 Richieste Aprile 2008 ICT-2008 è l’ evento principale organizzato dalla Commissione Europea in questo settore. L’ evento precedente, ad Helsinki ha avuto circa 4000 delegati.  La Unit per le Research Infrastructure intende avere uno stand dedicato ai seguenti progetti per l’ International Village di ICT-2008: GEANT EGEE-III EELA 2 EU-IndiaGrid EUAsiaGrid GLOBAL GridTalk SEE-GRID-SCI BalticGrid-II Per il 2008 sono stati assegnati 6000 euro, di cui 2000 S.J Sono stati impegnati per le spese relative all’ auditing, ulteriori impegni di spesa sono previsti nel breve periodo  per la brochure del progetto e  OGF23  (2-6 giugno Barcellona) dove e’ previsto un Workshop del progetto,  e uno stand.
