2 Background Hypothetical village selected in Armenia .
The village is not gasified due to its remote location. The villagers use mainly self-made, low-efficiency burners to heat their homes. There are no nearby forests, so the villagers use firewood delivered from remote forests. Increased cost of firewood annually (7.8% annually).

Two separate models were used: Model 1: Uninsulated house with low-efficiency wood-burners Model 2: Insulated house with replacement high-efficiency wood-burners Comparison of the volume of wood needed for both models.
