3 Un tempo le famiglie,la sera,si radunavano nelle stalle e le nonne erano solite raccontare ai nipoti delle storie che incutevano paura. Una di queste è “ La capra del Bombi Bombel “ Once upon a time, families met in the cattleshed in the evening and grandmothers, to keep their grandchild quiet and good, told them frightful stories. 5 C’era una volta una capra con un solo corno e un solo occhio; era così brutta che non osava nemmeno guardarsi nelle acque delle sorgenti. Once upon a time there was a one-eyed goat, as the devil. It was very bad. It never dared to look at itself into spring waters.

7 Durante le notti di luna piena saliva sui tetti delle baite e, battendo con i suoi zoccoli, spaventava la gente pretendendo ogni leccornia. At night, it climbed up the roof of the houses stamping its feet and frightening unfortunate people, pretending all kinds of delicius dishes.

9 I montanari per allontanarla mettevano fuori dalla porta quel poco che avevano da mangiare.
They put outside the door all the food they had got in order not to see it anymore and keep it away from them.

11 Stanchi di questa situazione, i montanari si radunarono intorno al fuoco e decisero di chiedere aiuto ai Santo Protettore che viveva sulla cima della montagna. People were tired of this situation, so they decided to ask for help to the Parton Saint of the village who lived at the top of the mountain.

13 Di buon’ ora si misero in cammino e giunti dal Santo gli raccontarono la loro vicenda.

All’ improvviso rimbombarono i colpi della capra. Appena il montanaro aprì la porta per sistemare il cibo, l’uccellino si pecipitò sulla capra e accecò anche l’altro occhio. Suddenly they heard goat’s frightful steps which was walking on the roof…” toc…toc…toc… Farmers picked some food and when they opened the door, the wren flew directly to the awful beast and with its beak blinded him.

21 ……la sforacchiò finchè non divenne come una ragnatela e scomparve tornando da chi l’aveva mandato.
Then it filled him with holes and the evil goat became like a spider’s web. Then it disappeared.
