4 RIVERS OF WORDS River, river, little river!
Brightly sparkling on your way Over the yellow pebbles dancing Through the flowers and bushes glancing You look like a child at play. River, river, lively river! Over rough and smooth with joy Go down faster, happily jumping Over rocks by rose banks sweeping Like an impetuous young boy!

6 Words of the river The river “Ticino” is a tributary of the Po. It rises in Switzerland and flows through the Lake Maggiore. The Ticino joins the Po a few kilometers downstream of Pavia, the ancient Ticinum. It is about 280 kilometers (173 miles) long. A river is a natural waterway coming from rain or ice. It has its source in a spring, a lake or in a glacier. Youthful river - a river with a steep gradient that has very few tributaries and flows quickly, like the river Ticino Mature river - a river with a gradient that is less steep than those of youthful rivers and flows more slowly than youthful rivers. A mature river is fed by many tributaries , like River Thames.

OUR WORLD IS HOME FOR EVERYONE!

8 RIVERS OF LIFE Water is full of life! The river is home to a wide variety of both vertebrate and invertebrate animals, from the smallest insect to the biggest fish. A DAY IN THE PARK

Guai a chi oserà distruggerlo ! “ Lì fondarono la città di Pavia.

10 Fiumi di storia….rivers of history
LONDON = LONDINIUM Tower Bridge was completed in 1894, after 8 years of construction. Originally, London Bridge was the only crossing over the Thames. As London grew, so more bridges were added, but these were all to the west of London Bridge, since the area east of London Bridge had become a busy port. In the 19th century, the east end of London became so densely populated that public pressure mounted for a bridge to the east of London Bridge, as journeys for pedestrians and vehicles were being delayed literally by hours.

11 Rivers of legend By the river Thames you can see the Tower of London.
Seven ravens are now in the Tower. Their wings are clipped, so they can't fly away. A legend from the time of Charles II tells that when there are no longer ravens in the Tower, the Kingdom will fail. Quel poveretto era in realtà Gesù.

12 A day in the park Back to town
You can have a picnic but you can’t light a fire. You can run but you can’t play football. You can ride a bike but you can’t drive a car. You can walk a dog but you can’t treat it or let it free. You can watch the animals but you can’t feed or frighten them. You can smell the flowers but you can’t pick them up. Back to town

13 Excuse me, can you tell me where is the station, please?
A DAY DOWNTOWN Look carefully at the traffic signs. What do they mean? Try to understand: it’s easy. If you get lost, don’t worry…. …ask a policeman! Excuse me, can you tell me where is the station, please?

16 MAGIC WORDS FOR MAGIC RIVERS
A little green frog once lived in a pool, The sun was hot and the water cool, He sat in the pool the whole day long, And sung a dear little song. Sammy snail is slowly moving See him slide across the grass He leaves a silver path behind him We all know when he passed. I'm Dashy the Dragonfly Swift is my flight Over the water I'm soon out of sight. Darting and flashing, Whatever the day. Oh! There goes an insect, I really can't stay!
