Ciao a tutti, siamo gli alunni della classe 5°A della scuola primaria R. Pezzani di Lodi, in Italia. Se durante le vacanze estive volete venire a vedere la nostra bella terra, fate un salto a trovarci: noi siamo qui vicino Milano (Vedi cartina dell’Italia). L’Italia è una bellissima nazione ricca di storia, di monumenti e incantevoli paesaggi da ammirare! Questa è la bandiera, che ci rappresenta nel mondo: il Tricolore Italiano. Hi to everybody, we are the pupils of the class 5°A of the school primary R. Pezzani of Praises, in Italy. If during the summer vacations you want to come to see our beautiful earth, fairies a jump to find us: we am here near Milan (you See map of Italy). Italy is a beautiful rich nation of history, of monuments and enchanting landscapes to be admired! This is the flag, that represents us in the world: the Italian Tricolor.

TRICOLORE ITALIANO Nella Costituzione della Repubblica Italiana del 1947 art. 12 si legge: “La bandiera della Repubblica è il Tricolore Italiano: verde bianco rosso, a tre bande verticali di eguali dimensioni”. I tre colori hanno un significato fortemente patriottico: VERDE = il colore delle nostre pianure BIANCO = la neve delle nostre cime ROSSO = il sangue dei caduti in battaglia per la libertà. Il tricolore italiano quale bandiera nazionale nasce nel ITALIAN TRICOLOR In the Constitution of the Italian Republic of the 1947 art. 12 are read: "The flag of the Republic is the Italian Tricolor: red white green, to three vertical gangs of equal dimensions". The three colors strongly have a patriotic meaning: Green = the color of our lowlands White = the snow of our tops Red = the blood of the fallen ones in battle for the liberty. IL DUOMO DI LODI Nella nostra città spicca per bellezza e valore storico, la chiesa costruita nella piazza principale: la Basilica Cattedrale della Vergine Assunta, comunemente detta Duomo, è il monumento più antico ed importante, della città di Lodi. La prima pietra dell’edificio, in stile romanico, fu posta il 3 Agosto 1185, giorno stesso della fondazione della città. San Bassiano è stato un Vescovo italiano, ed è il patrono di Lodi; il giorno a Lui dedicato è il 19 Gennaio: in quell’occasione è festa. Le reliquie del Santo sono conservate all’interno della cripta della Cattedrale. THE CATHEDRAL OF LODI In our city it detaches for beauty and historical value the church built in the principal plaza: the Cathedral Basilica of the Virgo Assunta, said Cathedral, is commonly the most ancient and important monument of the city of Praises. The first stone of the building, in Romanesque style, August 3 rd 1185 was set, same day of the foundation of the city. St. Bassiano has been an Italian Bishop, and it is the patron of Praises; the day to Him devoted it is January 19: in that occasion it is party. The relics of the Saint are preserved inside the crypt of the Cathedral.

IL DUOMO DI MILANO Vicino Lodi si trova Milano simbolo della città è il Duomo, la quarta Chiesa d’Europa per dimensioni dopo S. Pietro a a Roma, la Saint Paul a Londra e la Cattedrale di Siviglia. Commissionato da Gian Galeazzo Visconti nel 1386, il Duomo è considerato un esempio di stile tardo Gotico. La sua elaborazione fu assai lenta: essa comprese un lunghissimo arco di tempo: 5 secoli. Il Duomo può contenere fino a persone e ospita un incredibile numero di statue (oltre 3.400). STATO DEL VATICANO All’interno della città di Roma si trova lo Stato Pontificio; alla guida di questo piccolo, ma importantissimo stato, c’è il Papa. PIETRO Pietro fu il primo apostolo di Gesù. La Basilica di San Pietro, a Roma, sorge sul luogo dove venne crocifisso durante le persecuzioni romane. San Pietro, per i Cristiani, fu il primo Papa ed il primo Vescovo. Ora in Vaticano risiede il suo successore che si chiama Papa Benedetto XVI. Benedetto XVI porta il messaggio di Gesù a tutti nel mondo. PIETRO Pietro was the first apostle of Jesus. The Basilica of St. Pietro, to Rome, it rises on the place where he was crucified during the Roman persecutions. St. Pietro, for the Christians, it was the first Pope and the first Bishop.
