The whites are the predominant variety — out of 25 DOC wines produced in the region, 20 are white.  Legendary whites from the heart of Italy. Lazio encompasses the great city of Rome, which has had wine in its veins since the Romans first tamed the grape. The most important varieties in the region are Malvasia and Trebbiano.
