CDF NEEDS Finora la CSN1 ha approvato, d’accordo con direttorie CNAF/Tier1, e le gare sono state fatte dimensionate per: 2004: + 30TB (avuti 22) + 700 GHz (50% entro Maggio, resto entro Dic) (avuti 220) 2005: + 50TB + 900GHz = + 100 box “al clock che sara’” Cosa c’e’ da discutere ? N.B. subordinare la CPU a GRID/Glide-In e’ una concessione di CDF in spirito di collaborazione, non un requirement CSN1 Altri bisogni: uniform disk access: what about the 3TB on diskserv-cdf-1, NFS only ? how long rfio vs. gpfs ? More needs Clear organization Whom to ask what fast feedback on these issues what are these "users meeting for“ ? ~yearly status report is fun but need faster info in important/critical issues Clear perspective Need to plan the future What tool/hardware will be available when Clear collaboration We are now where LHC will be in 6 years We are where none has been before: global analysis GRID distributed on ~10 sites with central submission and authentication, data replica on demand, output on user’s desktop, refined and detailed monitor and accounting We can not go “LCG” in a single step, need a smooth transition CDF al TIer1 22 Jan 2004
