IL DUOMO ESTERNAMENTE : L'esterno, costruito in marmo rosa di Verona è ottagonale. Senza precedenti è lo sviluppo in altezza, come se si trattasse di una torre tronca. La superficie esterna è decorata da un complesso schema, con pieni e vuoti che ritmano effetti di chiaroscuro. Al pian terreno su tre facciate si aprono portali strombati con archi a tutto sesto, mentre sugli altri lati si trovano degli archi ciechi, grandi quanto un portale, con al centro delle colonnine, in una collocazione insolita. I portali sono decorati da vari rilievi, tra i quali spiccano le lunettte probabilmente di mano dell'Antelami stesso. Outside, built in rose Verona marble, it is octagonal. The development in height is without precedent, as if it were a cut off tower. The external surface is decorated with a complex pattern, with empty and full places that give chiaroscuro effects. On the ground floor on three facades there are embrasured portals with round arches , while on the other sides there are dead arches, as large as a portal, with some small columns in the centre, in an unusual position. The portals are decorated with several reliefs, among which you can see the lunette made, most probably, by Antelami.

La Deposizione di Antelami La tipologia della composizione è figurativa. L'opera raffigura la deposizione di Gesù Cristo dalla croce, ormai deceduto. La figura di Cristo appare molto espressiva e umana, con le braccia aperte come a concedere il perdono, una protesa verso la Vergine Maria. Subito sotto di lui si scorge Giuseppe di Arimatea, che lo sta abbracciando affettuosamente aiutandolo a scendere dalla croce, mentre alla sua destra più prossima troviamo Nicodemo, salito su una scala per togliergli il chiodo dalla mano. La croce divide la composizione a metà: sulla sinistra si notano sei figure addolorate dalla morte di Cristo, ossia le tre Pie, simbolo della Trinità e della Risurrezione, e successivamente la Vergine e Giuseppe; sulla destra spicca innanzitutto una figura interpretata come la personificazione del mondo Ebraico, a cui l'Arcangelo Gabriele fa chinare il capo in segno di sconfitta, mentre ancora più a destra si nota un irregolare insieme di soldati che, noncuranti della tragedia, si stanno spartendo le vesti del defunto. Questi ultimi simbolicamente rimandano al pericolo del peccato di eresia. The type of composition is figurative. The work depicts the deposition of Jesus Christ from the Cross, now deceased. The figure of Christ appears very expressive and human, with arms outstretched as if to grant the pardon, one directed toward the Virgin Mary. Below him you can see Joseph of Arimathea, who is affectionately embracing him, helping him to descend from the cross, while to his right we can see Nicodemus, climbed on a ladder to remove the nail from his hand. The cross divides the composition in half: on the left you can see six figures saddened by the death of Christ, namely the three Pie, a symbol of the Trinity and the Resurrection, and the Virgin and Joseph, on the right stands out above all a figure seen as the personification of the Jewish world in which the Archangel Gabriel makes them bend their heads in sign of defeat, while still further to the right there is a set of irregular soldiers,who, irrespective of the tragedy, are sharing the deceased’s clothes. The latters symbolically remind to the danger of the sin of heresy.

Il battistero Nel battistero di Parma si fondono architettura e scultura. Fu progettato da Benedetto Antelami; la firma dell’ architetto compare infatti in uno dei tre portali a testimoniare l’ inizio del il battistero a forma ottagonale e riprende la pianta dei battisteri paleocristiani; si struttura in sei piani di gallerie sovrapposte e aperte grazie al muro a intercapedine formato da gallerie interne poste davanti alle finestre. E’ famoso per le sculture che lo ornano, sempre realizzate da Antelami. In the baptistery of Parma architecture and sculpture are melted. It was planned by Benedict Antelami; the architect’s signature appears in one of the three portals to testify the beginning of the baptistery in the octagonal form which resumes the plan of the paleochristian baptisteries. There are six levels of overlapped galleries opened thanks to a cavity wall formed by inner galleries situated in front of the windows. It is famous for the sculptures that adorn it, always realized by Antelami.

TEATRO FARNESE (PARMA)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 TEATRO FARNESE (PARMA) Venne fatto costruire a partire dal 1618 da Ranuccio I, duca di Parma e Piacenza, che intendeva celebrare con uno spettacolo teatrale la sosta a Parma del granduca di Toscana. Venne costruito al primo piano del Palazzo della Pilotta di Parma. A causa di una malattia che aveva colpito Cosimo II, costringendolo ad annullare il pellegrinaggio programmato, il teatro rimase inutilizzato per quasi dieci anni. Venne finalmente inaugurato il 21 dicembre del 1628, in occasione delle nozze di Odoardo, figlio di Ranuccio, con Margherita de' Medici, figlia di Cosimo. Dopo l'ultima rappresentazione del 1732, il teatro decadde inesorabilmente: venne quasi completamente distrutto durante la II Guerra Mondiale, in un bombardamento degli Alleati del 13 maggio 1944. Fu ricostruito tra il 1956 ed il 1960, secondo i disegni originali con il materiale recuperato: oggi costituisce il prestigioso ingresso alla Galleria Nazionale di Parma. Il teatro è gemellato con il Teatro della Concordia di Montecastello di Vibio, il più piccolo teatro del mondo. It was built starting from 1618 by Ranuccio I, duke of Parma and Piacenza, who wanted to celebrate with a show the arrival in Parma of the granduca of Tuscany. It was built on the first floor of the Palace of the Pilotta of Parma. The theatre was not used for almost ten years due to a disease that had hit Cosimo II, forcing him to cancel the programmed pilgrimage. It was finally inaugurated on 21st December 1628, in occasion of Odoardo’s wedding,Ranuccio’son, with Margherita de' Medici, Cosimo’s daughter. After the last performance in 1732, the theatre decayed inexorably: it was almost completely destroyed during the II World war, in a bombing by the Allies on 13th May 1944. It was reconstructed between 1956 and 1960, according to the original designs with restored material. Today it is the prestigious entrance to the National Gallery of Parma. The theatre is twinned with the Theatre of the Concord of Montecastello di Vibio, the smallest theatre in the world.

il Castello di Fontanellato si trova vicino a Parma. La Rocca venne fondata nel 1124 e nel 1386 divenne proprietà della famiglia San vitale fino al 1961, anno in cui fu venduta al comune. L’edificio è circondato da un ampio fossato alimentato dall’acqua prodotta da una sorgiva. Le stanze presentano arredi e decorazioni del ‘600 e dell’800. L’opera più famosa presente all’intermo dell’edificio è un affresco del 1523/24 del Parmigianino in cui sono rappresentati Diana e Atteone. Fontanellato castle is near Parma. The Rocca was founded in 1124 and in 1386 it became property of the Sanvitales until 1961, year in which it was sold to the municipality. The building is surrounded by a wide ditch with spring water. In the rooms there are furnishings and decorations of the 17th and the 19th century. The most famous work inside the building is a fresco by Parmigianino, made in 1523/24, in which there are Diana and Atteone.
