Expansion of ALTBMD (Missile Defence) Cyber Defence Comprehensive Approach - Stabilisation and Reconstruction-related Capability Requirements Bi-AIS (Automated Information Systems) ACCS (Air Command and Control Systems) JISR (Joint Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) AGS (Alliance Ground Surveillance) NATO TODAY: NATO’s current main Dossiers: - Afghanistan - Missile Defence - Cooperation with Russia - Partnerships (EU, Georgia, Ukraine, Serbia, MD, ICI, China, India, etc.) - Smart Defence - Cyber defence Counter terrorism NC3A, and the future NATO C&I Agency, is responsible for 6 out of the 11 Lisbon Summit/New Strategic Concept priorities, including cyber and missile defence, so very much at the heart of the new, post-Lisbon NATO. 5 NATO UNCLASSIFIED

Kandahar Airfield Air Traffic Management ISAF Joint Command Theatre Missile Defence NATO-Russia Council Cooperative Airspace Initiative Combined Federated Battle Laboratories Network (CFBLNet) Distributed Networked Battle Labs (DNBL) Multi-sensor Aerospace-ground Joint ISR Interoperability Coalition (MAJIIC) Key Points: Rapid delivery of key capabilities for ISAF – Afghanistan Mission Network IOC, ISAF Joint Command stand up – we have seen the time it takes to deliver capability fall to under six months for major projects DNBL testing with Nations allows for cost-savings by verifying interoperability of National capabilities with NATO systems prior to shipping National capabilities to theatre MAJIIC has allows Nations to optimize the use of expensive UAV assets through rapid sharing of imagery NATO-Russia Cooperative Airspace Initiative – a landmark project that provides a shared air data picture between Russia and NATO that provides for early warning of threats such as hijacking, and a means for coordinating responses 6 NATO UNCLASSIFIED NATO UNCLASSIFIED

Multi-sensor Aerospace-ground Joint ISR Interoperability Coalition 2 (MAJIIC2) Full Operational Capability (FOC) of the Afghanistan Mission Network NATO Missile Defence Programme NATO Cyber Defence Programme Other Lisbon Capability Commitments, such as: Joint ISR Counter-IED Key Points: Agency hosts the NATO missile defence programme We will be leading the upgrade of NATO’s cyber shield, which is due to be fully up and running by 2012 Full operational capability of the Afghanistan Mission Network, which fundamentally changes the way Nations share intelligence and battle orders in multinational operations And others in Lisbon Capabilities Commitment – JISR, C-IED NATO UNCLASSIFIED NATO UNCLASSIFIED

Multi-sensor Aerospace-ground Joint ISR Interoperability Coalition (MAJIIC/MAJIIC2) Tactical Interoperable Communications Standards (TACOMS) Combined Federated Battle Laboratories Network (CFBLNet) NATO-Russia Council Cooperative Airspace Initiative Multinational Counter-IED Multinational Cyber Defence Multinational Civil-Military Interoperability Key Points: NC3A acts as a hub for multinational projects that benefit the Alliance by delivering cost savings. Some Nations with specific expertise, knowledge and capabilities further develop these in a joint venture under NC3A flag and/or management.
