2.3 RETE HEAVEN – area di studio L’area di studio si colloca nell’area centro-nord-est della città di Roma, all’interno dell’Anello Ferroviario Risulta compresa nella zona interdetta al passaggio delle vetture non catalitiche (1° Gennaio 2002) La Zona HEAVEN è proporzionalmente rappresentativa dell’intera area urbana della città Racchiude in sé: importanti direttrici della viabilità principale (Via Nomentana, Via Salaria, parte del Lungotevere Sinistro) una buona porzione di viabilità locale un’ampia zona di verde (Villa Ada, Villa Torlonia) 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003

DEV1 : MODELLING OF VEHICLES KINEMATICS Issue : To introduce a corrective factor considering kinematics for reducing the uncertainty connected with the use of average speed based emission functions. Solution : To extend the methodology developed during the ESTEEM Project (CO, FC) to other pollutants (NOX, VOC) for a set of major vehicle classes (diesel, cat., non cat.) belonging to passenger car. Needed input from partners : detailed characterisation of the traffic flows hour by hour and of the geometry of the link (number of lanes, semaphore phase at the end of the link, % of green on the total semaphore time.) 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003

TEE Development - January 2003 DEV1 - b : TIME FRACTIONS Issue: to optimise the curves related to the time fractions of the Kinematic phases : march, acceleration, deceleration and stop time fractions. This issue is strategic for the reconstruction of the driving cycles from basic traffic data (flow, density, green % time) Solution: To extend the matrix of possible realistic driving conditions along the link. To optimise the algorithm, developed during ESTEEM Project, for the cycle reconstruction. TEE Development - January 2003 DEV2 : MULTIPLE DATABASES USAGE (AVER. SPEED EMISSIONS AND INSTANT. EMISSIONS) Issue : Insertion of new databases made available in the near future. Fully implement the speed cycle option for the entire city network (e.g. this option can be used when input is from SATURN) Solution : linkage with Projects producing new data (Artemis, COST346). Introduction of a set of libraries containing the standard European speed cycles. Input from partners : access to results from involved projects. DEV3 : PARKING MODEL FOR IMPROVED COLD EMISSIONS LOCATION Issue : to introduce the consideration of parking and inserting flows of vehicles link by link. Method : to estimate parking flows and parking speed cycles in order to optimise the data present in the TEE code. Input from partners (cities): a) information on the concentrated parking (existence and capacity) and of distributed parking along the link. b) position of the inlet and outlet of the Parking along the links interested by the concentrated parking areas c) characterisation of the type of parking (for passenger cars, heavy vehicles, buses, motorcycles) d) curves of parking occupancy rate (e.g. by hour, by day category, by area category) 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003

DEV4 :GENERALISED FLEET COMPOSITION DEFINITION (USER DEFINED VEHICLES) Issue : to generalise the definition of the urban scale and link based fleets also allowing the user definition of new vehicles. Solution: to implement the best way to insert all the parameters and coefficients characterising the emission and consumption functions related to the new and future (and old….) vehicle categories. Input from partners : definition of expectations (what might be the new vehicles representation needs ?…..) 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003

DEV5 : MAXIMUM ‘EXTERNALISATION’ OF FORMULAS Issue : to allow the future user to input ‘model-data’ (e.g. emission functions of new and old vehicles, or sensitivity factors to the affecting parameters). Method : to identify general formulas for emission functions or use external abacus (also in order to simplify the insertion of new vehicle emission and consumption functions - see fleet generalisation issue) Input from partners : feedback on the more user friendly solutions and comments in order to implement new user oriented approaches for the data insertions. 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003

DEV6 : INSERTION OF ALGHORITMS Introduction of load correction for HDV. Complete revision of cold emission model (the cities must provide cold % info from traffic models output (average driven length per link)). Extension link by link of MEET approach for evaporative emissions. Definition of vehicles with injection or canister system (COPERT III or COMMUTE evap. Model). Introduction of energy fuel life cycle and vehicle life cycle (only at aggregated level). Introduction of air conditioning effect. Introduce overall checks of consistency 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003

DEV7 and DEV8 : INTEGRATION OF NOISE and SAFETY MODELS Introduction of the simplified two - dimensional noise model in alternative to the detailed 3D model (WP4 issue). This simplified model will be used for the analysis of large city projects/measures (such as the Rome or Paris or Athens case studies) for which the availability of detailed input data is unlikely, the running-time of a detailed analysis would be too high,  and the significance of a sophisticated approach is lower. Input needed by the ISHTAR cities: Link-buildings characteristics ( average height of buildings along the link). Introduction of the safety model (by Lassarre). Input needed by ISHTAR cities: Pedestrian movements, crossing information 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003

DEV 9 : extend 24hr capability Issue : to allow 24 hr calculation of emissions, noise and accidents on the basis of a common traffic information (received by WP2 tools and-or post processed within Trafic subroutine of TEE) Input from partners : Flow profiles on selected types of links along the 24hrs Data on parking process (occupancy, flows) 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003

TEE 2003 : ACTIONS COMPLETED Introduction of micro – macro category relationship. Development of daily traffic curves depending by day and area category. (Input needed by ISHTAR cities for the curves calibration). Introduction of a complete set of vehicular categories (see COPERT III characterisation) also for future fleet development with their c. & e. functions. Introduction of macro fleet composition to be inserted in alternative to the micro fleet distribution. Checking the temporal and spatial loops Introduction of micro and macro checks on the calculation flow and input data congruity. Introduction of the emission calculation related to Benzene (as % of VOC) and PM10 (as % of PTS) 18/09/2018 TEE Development - January 2003
