1 LA VERA PACE - PEACE, TRUE PEACE Vivere la vera Pace significa avere il cuore sereno, sentirsi in armonia con Dio, con il creato, con tutti e con se stessi. Io ho sperimentato questa Pace, che viene da Dio, quando m'impegno a vivere secondo la sua volontà; quando prego seriamente; quando mi metto al servizio di chi ha bisogno; quando riesco ad offrire a Dio le amarezze e le difficoltà della vita… E' la stessa pace che sento dopo una santa Confessione e dopo ogni Eucaristia, quando, in pratica, vivo in Grazia di Dio. Per me Dio è la vera ed unica Pace. Quando Dio creò l'uomo, gli diede anche le regole per vivere nella vera pace. Se l'uomo invece vive senza rispettare queste regole anzichè in pace vive nel disordine e nella confusione. L'umanità cerca continuamente la pace ma dimentica che la può trovare solo vivendo secondo la legge di Dio. Non esiste altro modo per trovare la vera Pace. Having a serene heart, feeling in harmony with the Lord, with creation, with everyone and ourselves, that is living the true state of Peace. I experience this Peace, that only the Lord can give, every time I take it upon myself to live according to His will; every time I serve those in need; every time I am able to offer the Lord all the bitterness, the difficulties encountered on the path of life… It is the same peace I feel after a good Confession, after I take the Holy Eucharist, when I am in a State of Grace in the Lord. For me, the Lord is the true and sole Peace. When the good Lord created man, He gave him rules that would allow him to live in true peace. If man chooses not to respect these rules, his life is run by chaos and confusion instead of peace. Humanity is constantly seeking peace yet it forgets that it can only find it by living according to the Lord’s Word. There is no other way to find true peace.

2 Vi lascio la Pace, vi do la mia P ace. Non come la dà il mondo, io la do a voi. Non sia turbato il vostro cuore e non abbia timore. (Gv 14,27) Vi ho detto queste cose perché abbiate Pace in me. Voi avrete tribolazione nel mondo, ma abbiate fiducia; io ho vinto il mondo!». (Gv 16,33) Peace be with you; I give you my Ppeace. Not as the world gives Peace do I give it to you. Do not be troubled; do not be afraid.(Jn 14,27) I have told you all this, so that in me you may have Peace. You will have trouble in the world; but, courage! I have overcome the world." (Jn 16,33)

3 Gesù disse loro di nuovo: « Pace a voi! Come il Padre ha mandato me, anch'io mando voi». (Gv 20,21) Otto giorni dopo i discepoli erano di nuovo in casa e c'era con loro anche Tommaso. Venne Gesù, a porte chiuse, si fermò in mezzo a loro e disse: « Pace a voi!». (Gv 20,26) Again Jesus said to them, " Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you."(Jn 20,21) Eight days later, the disciples were inside again and Thomas was with them. Despite the locked doors Jesus came and stood in their midst and said, "P eace be with you." (Jn 20,26)

4 Beati gli operatori di pace, perché saranno chiamati figli di Dio. (Mt 5,9) per rischiarare quelli che stanno nelle tenebre e nell'ombra della morte e dirigere i nostri passi sulla via della pace». (Lc 1,79) Fortunate are those who work for peace, they shall be called children of God (Mt 5,9) shining on those who live in darkness and in the shadow of death, and guiding our feet into the way of peace." (Lk 1,79) E la pace di Cristo regni nei vostri cuori, perché ad essa siete stati chiamati in un solo corpo. E siate riconoscenti! (Col 3,15) cercate piuttosto di adornare l'interno del vostro cuore con un'anima incorruttibile piena di mitezza e di pace: ecco ciò che è prezioso davanti a Dio. (1Pt 3,4) May the peace of Christ overflow in your hearts; for this end you were called to be one body. And be thankful. (Col 3,15) There is something more permanent that shines from within a person: a gentle and peaceful disposition. This is really precious in God's eyes. (1P 3,4)

5 Giustificati dunque per la fede, noi siamo in pace con Dio per mezzo del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo; (Rom 5,1) Ma i desideri della carne portano alla morte, mentre i desideri dello Spirito portano alla vita e alla pace. (Rom 8,6) By faith we have received true righteousness, and we are at peace with God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.(Rom 5,1) Flesh tends towards death, while spirit aims at life and peace.(Rom 8,6)

6 Il regno di Dio infatti non è questione di cibo o di bevanda, ma è giustizia, pace e gioia nello Spirito Santo: (Rom 14,17) Il Dio della speranza vi riempia di ogni gioia e pace nella fede, perché abbondiate nella speranza per la virtù dello Spirito Santo. (Rom 15,13) The kingdom of God is not a matter of food or drink; it is justice, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, (Rom 14,17) May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace in the faith, so that your hope may increase by the power of the Holy Spirit.(Rom 15,13)

7 grazia a voi e pace da Dio Padre nostro e dal Signore Gesù Cristo. (1Cor 1,3) perché Dio non è un Dio di disordine, ma di pace. (1Cor 14,33) Per il resto, fratelli, state lieti, tendete alla perfezione, fatevi coraggio a vicenda, abbiate gli stessi sentimenti, vivete in pace e il Dio dell'amore e della pace sarà con voi. (2Cor 13,11) Receive grace and peace from God our Father, and Christ Jesus our Lord. (1 Cor 1,3) because God is not a God of confusion, but of peace.(1Cor 14,33) Finally, brothers and sisters, be happy, strive to be perfect, have courage, be of one mind and live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. (2Cor 13,11)

8 Il lupo dimorerà insieme con l'agnello, la pantera si sdraierà accanto al capretto;il vitello e il leoncello pascoleranno insieme e un fanciullo li guiderà. La vacca e l'orsa pascoleranno insieme; si sdraieranno insieme i loro piccoli. Il leone si ciberà di paglia, come il bue. Il lattante si trastullerà sulla buca dell'aspide; il bambino metterà la mano nel covo di serpenti velenosi. (Is 11,6-8) The wolf will dwell with the lamb, the leopard will rest beside the kid, the calf and the lion cub will feed together and a little child will lead them. Befriending each other, the cow and the bear will see their young ones lie down together.Like cattle, the lion will eat hay. By the cobra's den the infant will play.The child will put his hand into the viper's lair. (Is 11,6-8)

9 Il frutto dello Spirito invece è amore, gioia, pace, pazienza, benevolenza, bontà, fedeltà, mitezza, dominio di sé; (Gal 5,22) Egli infatti è la nostra pace, colui che ha fatto dei due un popolo solo, abbattendo il muro di separazione che era frammezzo, cioè l'inimicizia, (Ef 2,14) But the fruit of the Spirit is charity, joy and peace, patience, understanding of others, kindness and fidelity, (Gal 5,22) For Christ is our peace, he who has made the two peoples one, destroying in his own flesh the wall - the hatred -which separated us. (Eph 2,14)

10 Egli è venuto perciò ad annunziare pace a voi che eravate lontani e pace a coloro che erano vicini. (Ef 2,17 e la pace di Dio, che sorpassa ogni intelligenza, custodirà i vostri cuori e i vostri pensieri in Cristo Gesù. (Fil 4,7) He came to proclaim peace; peace to you who were far off, peace to the Jews who were near.(Eph 2,17) Then the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.(Phil 4,7)
