DEPARTMENT BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING The Department of Bioengineering conducts research at experimental and clinical level, ongoing studies involve four main areas: 1) the study of the mechanisms responsabile for the progression of chronic kidney disease; 2) the study of the role of hemodynamics in the development of vascular damage; 3) the development of laboratory techniques for tissue engineering; 4) the development of information systems for the management of clinical data and images generated in the context of controlled clinical trials and in clinical practice. Fenestration of the anterior cerebral artery (ACA) is rare and is frequently associated with cerebral aneurysm . Saccular aneurysms associated with fenestrations have been well documented and they are often associated with cerebral hemodynamic changes .
