KIC - Knowledge and Innovation Community Ogni KIC è una rete in cui ciascun nodo della rete è a sua volta una rete, tipicamente un cluster nazionale Ogni KIC prevede 4-6 nodi. EIP - Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability

EIP - AGRI Launched by European Commission on 29 February 2012 Aims: at providing a working interface between agriculture, bio-economy, science and others at EU, national and regional level. It will also serve as a catalyst to enhance the effectiveness of innovation-related actions supported by Rural Development Policy as well as the Union Research and Innovation. Two headline targets have been identified for this EIP: •promoting productivity and efficiency of the agricultural sector (reversing the recent trend of diminishing productivity gains by 2020); •the sustainability of agriculture (securing soil functionality at a satisfactory level by 2020).

PPP – Public-Private parternships

BRIDGE PPP BRIDGE stands for ‘Biobased and Renewable Industries for Development and Growth in Europe’. It is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) on Bio-based Industries (BBI) being established in cooperation between the European Commission and the Biobased Industries Consortium (BIC). About 50 European large and small companies, clusters and organisations across technology, industry, agriculture and forestry.

BRIDGE PPP Biobased Industries will optimize land use and food security through a sustainable, resource-efficient and largely waste-free utilisation of Europe’s renewable raw materials for industrial processing into a wide array of biobased products

Aims The economic challenge: The European water sector is of prime economic importance, as it offers jobs for thousands of citizens across Europe. Investments in water technology around the world increase every year, in a market which has become very competitive. The ecological challenge: Preservation and protection of waters is a crucial asset for sustainable development. It is essential to enhance the absorbing and self-purification capacity of the landscape and water ecosystems to reduce the transfer and storage of pollutants and maintain biodiversity and ecosystem services. The societal challenge: Water is a natural resource necessary for societal well-being. Water fulfils a multitude of services and functions for a sustainable livelihood. Water re-use and nutrient recovery from municipal, industrial and agricultural waste water offer economic advantages and societal gains. The technological challenge: Specific innovations in monitoring technologies and developments in information systems and methodologies are required to address the complexity of water systems and water issues. Many capital-intensive water infrastructures require research to improve design and maintenance, maximize societal benefit and moderate costs.

http://www.waterjpi.eu/water-jpi/index.php/csa-wateur January 2012 – Call Coordination and Support Action WATEUR proposal which has started on the 1st January 2013. This CSA will sustain the overall coordination and capacity-building process for the Water JPI with the initial aim of shortening the time required to reach the implementation phase and then allow the adoption of effective and efficient methods of collaboration among the partners in water research. This action will help establish effective JPI governance structures and develop a sharply focused and realistic research agenda based on the mapping and analysis of the state of the art in the specific field both at European and international level.
