3 Dear friends, we wish to tell you some of the most exciting, funny and interesting experiences we have been doing during this School Year !

4 This year also the students of the Secondary School, have joined with us the “European Week of Sustainable Mobility”, promoted by UNESCO, with the aim of reducing the air pollution caused by CO2 emissions of cars. We were many and all on foot ! There were our parents, our grandparents, our brothers and sisters, our teachers and the Representatives of the city of San Pietro di Feletto. We walk to school !

5 “SULLE REGOLE. PERCHE’ CONVIENE LA LEGALITA’” On 24 th September 2012 we met Pierpaolo Romani, a lawyer who works with the famous ex-magistrate Gherardo Colombo. He talked about the theme: “The rules. Why legality is better”. We have been thinking together about the importance of the observance of the rules in order to live well with other people. In the late afternoon, P.Romani met our parents, the cityzenship, the municipal representatives and some officiers of the Guardia di Finanza.

8 Today, 11 th October 2012, we are hosting a delegation of German and Spanish teachers to share experiences and practices on student’s mobility, on teaching methodology based around movement and active participation by the children, on wellbeing and health,…,. Their names are: Dolors, Francisca and Maria Lourdes from Lleida; Astrid,Claudia, Juliane and Klaus from Berlin. They are our Partners in Comenius Project, called “Children in the City. Growing up in activated spaces”. In these photos we are showing them in which way we use the Orizontal Free Climbing, that we call “O.F.C.”…

9 …and how we usually play along the “Blue Shoes“ path, that we painted by ourselves and use to go to school, to the gym or to the public library etc….on foot, alone, with our friends or our parents.

11 LA NOSTRA SCUOLA E’ IN MOVIMENTO !!! Venerd ì 19 ottobre mattina e pomeriggio si sono alternati bambini e insegnanti in pratiche di movimento. I bambini di due classi terze hanno svolto i test motori, con l'aiuto dei compagni pi ù grandi della classe 4^, guidati da Stephan Riegger, Moving School 21 DE e Raffaela Mulato, Moving School 21 IT. L'obiettivo è di monitorare le capacit à di equilibrio, coordinamento e flessibilit à dei bambini. I test verranno estesi a tutti i bambini della scuola e replicati alla fine dell'anno scolastico. Verranno elaborati i dati raccolti per sviluppare una strategia, dentro e fuori la scuola, assieme agli insegnanti per migliorare l'apprendimento, la sicurezza in strada e l'attenzione durante le lezioni. Con il gruppo di insegnanti, il pomeriggio sono state sperimentate le pause attive, che ritmizzano le lezioni. Le pause possono essere utilizzate sia per rilassare che per attivare e favorire la concentrazione e l'apprendimento. Ci aspettiamo un miglioramento nel rendimento scolastico e nella motivazione ad apprendere, come emerso in recenti ricerche che hanno coinvolto migliaia di bambini nelle scuole dell'Assia.

12 It’s the 20 th October and with the help of the Teachers Stephan Riegger and Raffaela Mulato (Moving School 21 Association) we are doing some tests: “Piegamento sul dorso” to check our flexibility; “Una gamba sola” to check our balance; ”Salto in lungo da fermi “ to control our strength; “Saltelli laterali” to verify our co-ordination. Our teachers… …and our parents ! In this photo we are showing to some parents the “Blue Shoes” path, that’s 800 meters long ; on the way you can play “Quattro cantoni”, “Tris”, “Campana”, you can jump on the geometrical shapes, walk on a long green snake, follow the blue prints or a flowering way...

13 After playing games at school and along the “Blue Shoes” path, we’ve spend a funny and busy morning with our families, playing the recorder and singing, too. Jacopo’s grandfather cooked a lot of chestnuts for all the pupils and parents.

14 AL FRANTOIO “TAPA OLEARIA” It’s the 29 th of October.In this photo you can see the oil mill in San Giacomo, a village near Rua di Feletto. Here we are learning how to produce the olive oil : you have to weight the olives ; to wash them ; to take off the stones; to squeeze the olives ; to separate the pulp from the oil ; to strain the oil and finally …to bottle it !

15 Visita guidata al frantoio “ Tapa Olearia “ di San Giacomo di Veglia Rua, 29 Ottobre 2012 Caro diario, oggi noi alunni di classe 5^ della scuola primaria “Silvio Pellico” di Rua siamo andati a visitare il frantoio “ Tapa Olearia” che si trova a San Giacomo di Veglia. Appena arrivati siamo stati accolti dal socio fondatore della cooperativa che ci ha fatto da guida spiegandoci nei dettagli la storia del frantoio e fornendoci molte informazioni relative alle olive. C’ erano molti coltivatori che portavano il loro raccolto di olive al frantoio e per tutta la mattinata c’ è stato un lavoro continuo. Dopo essere state pesate le olive venivano versate in un pozzo di raccolta e attraverso un rullo trasportate dentro una vasca d’ acqua per essere lavate e ripulite. Continuando la lavorazione, subivano poi la macinatura ottenendo così la pasta di olive. Infine nell’ ultimo macchinario si poteva osservare l’ olio che usciva da un tubo e veniva raccolto in una vasca. L’ olio ottenuto era di colore verdastro, piuttosto denso e dal profumo molto intenso. Questo olio è sicuramente di alta qualità, un prodotto controllato e sano. Questa visita ci ha permesso di capire con chiarezza quali sono i passaggi che devono subire le olive ( materia prima alimentare ) per diventare olio ( prodotto finito ) un alimento molto nutriente che spesso utilizziamo nella nostra dieta e nella nostra cucina per preparare ottime pietanze, saporite e genuine. Per concludere la visita abbiamo assaggiato l’ olio con il pane, era veramente squisito.

Here we are printing a poster with our names. We are visiting the printing museum and we are listening to the guide who is talking about the functioning of the old machines.

23 Sabato 12 gennaio 2013 dalle ore 9.55 alle ore 11.55 Scuola primaria “ Silvio Pellico” - Rua – San Pietro di Feletto - On 12 th January we welcomed in our school about 30 children of the next 1st form and their parents. We accompanied them to visit our classes and laboratories. We sang and played some songs for them during the party !

24 14 th January : an exciting Basket lesson

25 UNA BELLA PARTITA DI BASKET Rua, 14.01.2013 Oggi, 14 Gennaio 2013, presso la struttura polisportiva di Rua di Feletto si è svolto il torneo di minibasket che ha coinvolto gli alunni delle classi quarte e quinte dei plessi di Rua, Santa Maria e Bagnolo. Gli alunni nei mesi precedenti hanno svolto alcune lezioni di minibasket seguiti da esperti e questo torneo è stato una tappa conclusiva e un piacevole momento di condivisione di un percorso sportivo comune vissuto con molto entusiasmo. Eravamo in tanti; tutti amici, carichi di tanta energia, pronti a giocare insieme. Dopo essere stati divisi in squadre gli allenatori: Massimiliano, Ugo e Carlo, hanno dato il fischio d’ inizio e... tutti in campo a giocare. Passaggi, rimbalzi, canestri, salti, palleggi, azioni di difesa e di attacco, qualche fallo e … tanta voglia di giocare. Grida, tifo, urla, emozioni, sorrisi e … tanta voglia di divertirsi e stare insieme. Le partite erano movimentate, alcune squadre hanno vinto, altre hanno perso … ma è stato bello vedere tanti bambini giocare insieme preoccupati di divertirsi e di dare il meglio di sé e ognuno di noi è stato contento del risultato ottenuto. Ringraziamo i nostri allenatori che ci hanno seguito durante le lezioni di minibasket e con molta pazienza e tanta professionalità ci hanno aiutato ad imparare le regole del basket ma soprattutto le regole dello sport, del gioco di squadra e dello stare bene insieme. E’ stata una bella esperienza. Ciao a tutti !

26 LE REGOLE DELLA SPORTIVITA’ Questa è la regola fondamentale che noi tutti dobbiamo ricordare. Giocare lealmente senza imbrogliare rispettare le regole e non brontolare. Collaborare con tutti quanti perché oggi qui siamo in tanti. Accettando la sconfitta se capiterà e stringendo la mano a chi vincerà. Play fairly don’t cheat ! Respect the rules and don’t grumble! Collaborate with everyone because we are many here today! Accept the defeat if it happens and shake hands to the winner! Giacomo says: ”Look at my T-shirt !“

29 This morning we visited the Secondary School ! On 18 th January we visited the “Brustolon Secondary School”. We asked some questions about the School and the teachers and pupils explained. We also listened to a Geography lesson about Switzerland. It was a very exciting morning !

31 WE CAN PLAY CHESS !!! In the final match we played with chocolate chessmen and then we ate all the pieces ! Yummy ! From 19 th January to 16 th February 2013 we played chess with Mr Daniele in the class in eleven pairs.

32 28th JANUARY : ”GIORNO della MEMORIA” In these pictures we are setting some white stones in front of the photo of the child of Varsavia. This child of Varsavia is the symbol of the Holocaust that we remember every year on January 28 th.

35 Sunday, February 3 rd, we were interviewed by “RAI Scuola “ during our participation in the workshops of painting and dance (Being Cleopatra) to the German Pavilion in Venice (Biennale)!

37 It’s the 7 th of February and we are celebrating the last day of Carnival ! Each class wants to do a performance, play the flute or sing a song in front of their classmates and teachers. We had a lot of fun !

38 PET PROJECT On 14 th February we carried out the last lesson with an expert of ULSS 7. In the lesson the Lady brought a little dog. Her name was Dora. The Lady taught us to stroke the dog and then we gave her some dog biscuits to eat.

40 Visita al Municipio Monday, April 8th we reached on foot the Town Hall where we were expected by our Mayor, Mr. Loris Dalto who, for the occasion, was wearing the tricolor flag as Mayor. In this photo we are in the Council Chamber where the Mayor has answered our many questions after having accompanied us to visit the various municipal offices. “These are really good questions ” said the Mayor !

42 Pinocchio in bicicletta On April 26 th we carried out a lesson in Road Safety Education, called “Pinocchio in bicicletta”. In these photos we are in the lower playground of our school and we are doing some exercises to test both our ability to stay in balance and our speed. It was a really funny morning !

44 On April 27th we wanted to remake the "Car Free Day". We were so many and in harmony !

45 Once at school, we measured the flowerbed, that some parents prepared the day before… …and then we planted the flowers !...we have divided the length of the flowerbed into 6 parts (one part for each class)…

46 Una lezione di mini-rugby Una lezione di minirugby alla scuola primaria di Rua Gli alunni del plesso di Rua hanno avuto l’ occasione di partecipare ad una lezione di minirugby svolta dall’ allenatore Massimiliano del Conegliano Rugby. I piccolini di classe 1^ e 2^ hanno svolto dei percorsi e degli esercizi con la palla da rubgy, passaggi e lanci per familiarizzare con questo sport. Gli altri alunni invece, più grandi, hanno sperimentato dei placcaggi e delle azioni di gioco. La partecipazione è stata molto attiva perché per tutti gli alunni questo sport era assolutamente nuovo e la curiosità era notevole. Gli alunni di Rua Friday, May 3rd, in the school gym, we played a fun mini-lesson in rugby tackles and experiencing some game actions. The coach was very clear in explanations and also very patient with all of us.

47 Rally Matematico Transalpino This year we also participated in the “21 st Rally Matematico Transalpino" and after two trials (the first one in February and the second one in March) we were admitted to the finals! Here we are working in groups of 6 or 7. Here we are thinking and discussing about the solutions. We solved and copied all the questions in 50 minutes.

49 Monday, May 13th we went to the Secondary School of Sedegliano (Ud) by bus and there we played the final Maths competition! …and even if we didn’t win the first prize of our category, we are equally very happy and proud !!! There were about 26 classes, aged between 8 and 15 years old…

50 This is the certificate of our participation in the Rally, on the back of it there is a nice game to be cut, called "Donkeys and Zebras !

51 Progetto ULSS7 su affettività e sessualità In these photos we are discussing with the Psychologist on the meaning of the word "affection". We also talked about our emotions and how our body is changing.

52 English lessons From 6 th to 20 th May we had the chance to meet Professor Richard Davison. During his lessons we all spoke only in English. It was an interesting and formative experience !

54 OUR “READING PROJECT” The “Reading Project” started 10 years ago in our Comprehensive School and involved, over the years, other schools in Conegliano. In these photos we are at the Public Library for the usual loan books. The last day of school, during the school party with our parents, the Head of Culture awards the “strongest” readers of each class.

55 Progetto frutta In 2011 our school started taking part in the “Fruit in the School “ Project. During playtime we eat good biological fruit, too !

56 TEST MOTORI Nel corso del progetto Moving School 21, che gli alunni hanno svolto anche quest’ anno, erano previsti dei momenti dedicati ai test motori. Gli alunni di classe 5^, durante questi test, svolgono esercizi differenti: saltelli laterali a piedi pari, salto in lungo da fermo, esercizi di equilibrio su una gamba sola ed esercizi di piegamento del dorso… Divisi in gruppi si organizzano secondo precise regole ed incarichi. Anche nella mattinata del 16 maggio gli alunni di classe 1^ e 5^ hanno svolto queste attività. I piccoli di classe 1a hanno svolto due giochi-esercizi sulla parete OFC. Il loro entusiasmo era notevole, così come il loro impegno e la loro attiva partecipazione. Una pedagogista dell’ Università di Bologna, la dott.ssa Margherita Garzya, ha supervisionato il lavoro che si stava svolgendo, osservando in particolare non solo la capacità di orientamento nello spazio, la chiarezza nella comunicazione verbale, l’agilità, l’equilibrio, la flessibilità, ma anche il comportamento individuale e tra pari durante queste particolari attività strutturate. Durante le attività gli alunni hanno collaborato in modo positivo e si sono divertiti.

57 On May 16 th, we took again the exercises that we experienced last October with the aim of comparing the results. Margherita Garzya, an Educator from the University of Bologna, noted not only we were able to perform the exercises, but also our behavior at work, our organizational skills and our level of cooperation.

59 Saturday, June 8th, we celebrated the conclusion of this school year.We sang and played some songs for our parents, teachers, Headmaster,Head of Culture and Mayor.
